Chen Quanshi, chairman of the Electric Vehicles Branch of the China Automotive Engineering Society and director of the Automotive Research Institute of Tsinghua University, said in an interview with reporters recently that he had exposed some problems with battery technology in the pilot operation of the new energy vehicle, although he did not The details of the failure of the vehicle were disclosed, but he said that for large-scale commercialization, battery technology still needs to be further matured. Another technical expert stated that China’s new energy vehicle technology is still at a distance from foreign countries in terms of battery power drive system efficiency, battery system integration technology, fast charging materials, large-scale production process design, battery life, and quality control of the production process. Some key parts and components have not achieved breakthroughs in technology and are still dependent on imports, and cost control needs to be strengthened.

Experts believe that technology maturity and cost control are two difficulties in the development of new energy vehicles, and are also the starting point for the government to issue supporting policies. Chen Quanshi believed that with regard to policy support, the government has already issued special funds to support the research and development of new energy vehicles in the 10 billion yuan, demonstrating the operation of 1,000 cities in 10 cities, and granting subsidies for new energy vehicles to start the market from the bottom up. The precise and clear path is of great benefit to the industry, but the key depends on whether it can be finalized.
