China's new energy vehicles key components expect technology to leapfrog

Xu Heyi, chairman of Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd., said recently that the occupation of high points of new energy and new technologies in the future will surely become the focus of global auto industry competition.

Experts believe that new energy is the direction of future automotive industry development. Basically, all countries in the world are in the initial stage of R&D. As China’s new energy vehicles currently have little difference in technology from the world’s advanced level, there are even advantages in some aspects. This provides a good opportunity for the relatively backward Chinese automotive industry to achieve leapfrog development. Only the current technological leap can achieve industrial surpass. China's auto industry needs to speed up its development and shorten the gap with the world's advanced automotive technology. It must boldly innovate when adjusting its industrial and product structure.

Chen Quanshi, chairman of the Electric Vehicles Branch of the China Automotive Engineering Society and director of the Automotive Research Institute of Tsinghua University, said in an interview with reporters recently that he had exposed some problems with battery technology in the pilot operation of the new energy vehicle, although he did not The details of the failure of the vehicle were disclosed, but he said that for large-scale commercialization, battery technology still needs to be further matured. Another technical expert stated that China’s new energy vehicle technology is still at a distance from foreign countries in terms of battery power drive system efficiency, battery system integration technology, fast charging materials, large-scale production process design, battery life, and quality control of the production process. Some key parts and components have not achieved breakthroughs in technology and are still dependent on imports, and cost control needs to be strengthened.

Experts believe that technology maturity and cost control are two difficulties in the development of new energy vehicles, and are also the starting point for the government to issue supporting policies. Chen Quanshi believed that with regard to policy support, the government has already issued special funds to support the research and development of new energy vehicles in the 10 billion yuan, demonstrating the operation of 1,000 cities in 10 cities, and granting subsidies for new energy vehicles to start the market from the bottom up. The precise and clear path is of great benefit to the industry, but the key depends on whether it can be finalized. He said that the "rejuvenation plan" put forward by the "by 2011 the formation of new energy vehicles to produce 500,000 production capacity" to achieve more certainty, but whether this capacity can be fully opened at the time depends on market demand; "new energy vehicle sales To account for about 5% of the total passenger car sales, it depends on the degree of consumer acceptance. Whether it can be achieved at present is difficult to determine.

Luo Yutao, deputy director of South China University of Technology’s Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Electric Vehicle Research, suggested setting up an industry alliance to jointly conduct powertrain and key components research and industrialization.

At present, in order to seize the good opportunities for the development of China's auto industry, from government to industry organizations, from auto companies to scientific research institutions, all have made concerted efforts to carry out a series of fruitful research and adopted various countermeasures. In this regard, experts are convinced that as long as they seize strategic opportunities, the leap-forward development of China's auto industry will be just around the corner.
